The Faculty of Business Management, National Economics University (NEU), in collaboration with Dongseo University (DSU), will organize the International Workshop e on AI Applications in Industry 2026 in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 29, 2026. We would like to invite scholars, researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners to participate in the workshop and submit their research papers for presentation. The details are as follows:
The contemporary industrial and business landscape is undergoing a profound transformation driven by rapid advances in digital technologies and data-driven innovation. From advanced manufacturing systems and intelligent supply chains to financial technologies and digital marketing ecosystems, these developments are fundamentally reshaping how organizations operate, compete, and create value. In particular, the rise of digital platforms and evolving digital consumer behavior is transforming customer engagement, decision-making processes, and value creation mechanisms. This transformation is not merely technological; it represents a structural shift in organizational logic, market dynamics, and the nature of work itself.
As firms increasingly integrate advanced technologies into their core operations, they are confronted with both unprecedented opportunities and complex challenges. On the one hand, AI enables enhanced efficiency, predictive capabilities, and data-driven strategic decision-making. On the other hand, it raises critical concerns regarding governance, transparency, accountability, and the ethical use of intelligent systems. Moreover, the diffusion of AI technologies necessitates substantial changes in workforce skills, organizational structures, and leadership approaches.
This workshop focuses on how emerging technologies serves as a catalyst for strategic Digital Transformation (DX). We move beyond technical implementation to explore how AI redefines business models, value propositions, and organizational structures. The goal is to understand the interplay between technological capability and managerial wisdom.
Central to this discourse is the challenge of aligning technological advancement with human and organizational capabilities. The emergence of human–AI collaboration, the need for workforce reskilling, and the development of adaptive leadership models are critical areas requiring further scholarly attention. At the same time, regulatory frameworks and governance mechanisms must evolve to ensure responsible and ethical deployment of AI technologies, particularly in high-stakes domains such as finance, healthcare, and public services.
Furthermore, the increasing integration of AI into business ecosystems is redefining competitive dynamics and value creation processes. Digital platforms, data ecosystems, and algorithmic decision systems are transforming traditional industry boundaries and enabling new forms of innovation. This workshop therefore invites submissions that investigate these transformations from interdisciplinary perspectives, incorporating insights from management, economics, information systems, and related fields.
We welcome both theoretical and empirical contributions, including qualitative and quantitative studies, case analyses, and methodological advancements. Interdisciplinary and comparative research, particularly those focusing on emerging markets and the Asia-Pacific region, are especially encouraged.
